Cross-border railways have fueled interest in “Traveling China”, with many foreign tourists choosing to continue their journey into inland China, and provinces such as Sichuan and Guizhou have become popular destinations. In particular, the operation of special tourist trains has offered foreign visitors a new way to explore China in depth.

　　Anjing Railway Station in Sichuan is the country’s first hub station for tourist trains. Here, a tourist train bound for Xinjiang, currently one of the most sought-after routes, is about to depart. All tickets for this train in October have been sold out, with inbound foreign tourists accounting for 70% of total passengers.

　　The train offers various cabin types, including single and family compartments, to meet the needs of different groups. It is equipped with multifunctional carriages such as dining, kitchen and entertainment areas. From interior decorations like pandas and bamboo weaving to Sichuan opera face-changing performances, traditional Chinese cultural features can be found everywhere, offering foreign tourists a close-up window into Chinese culture.

　　The 16-day itinerary includes popular attractions such as Sayram Lake, Nalati Grassland, and Tianchi Lake in Xinjiang, allowing visitors to enjoy scenic landscapes and local cuisine along the route. Similarly, tourist trains on the Sichuan-Qinghai Railway are also popular with foreign tourists.

　　With this “golden tourism line” in operation, travel time from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area has been drastically reduced from eight hours by road to around three hours.

　　Currently, Jiuzhaigou receives an average of 41,000 visitors per day. At peak times, the number of inbound foreign visitors can reach 5,000 to 6,000 per day.
