As of August 8, the number of CRE (China-Central Asia) freight trains passing through the Horgos railway port exceeded 6,000 this year, reaching the milestone 46 days earlier than last year and setting a new record.

　　Since the beginning of the year, the Xinjiang railway authority has strengthened coordination with customs, border inspection and other departments to jointly promote the construction of the “Smart Port” project. The “Smart Railway Port + Local Rapid Customs Clearance” model has been implemented at Horgos Railway Station. Enterprises can submit electronic data in advance through the system, and the customs’ intelligent inspection system automatically verifies the manifest data. This has shortened the clearance time for imported goods at the port from 2-3 days to within 16 hours, with the reloading of an inbound return CRE train now averaging just 2 hours. At the same time, customs-railway information sharing allows railway departments to grasp the customs release status of trains in real time, improving vehicle turnaround efficiency by more than 20%. On average, more than 27 CRE (China-Central Asia) freight trains pass through the port daily.

　　So far, a total of 48,000 trains have passed through the Horgos railway port, serving 89 routes to 46 cities and regions in 18 foreign countries.
